Stuart B. Black, M.D., FAAN
Dr. Stuart B.
Black is the founding member and Medical Director of the Dallas Headache Clinic. He is board
certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and has been awarded
honorary Fellow Membership in the American Academy of Neurology. Dr. Black
was a
Clinical Professor of Neurology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical
School and is a Founding Member and Past President of the State of Texas
Neurological Society. He is also past Chairman of the Texas Medical
Association’s Section of Neurology.
Dr. Black is an active member of the
International Headache Society and American Headache Society. He has held a
number of positions in the American Headache Society including past Chairman
of the Refractory Headache Special Interest Section and past Chairman of the
American Headache Society Practice Committee. He is currently Chairman of
the American Headache Society Medical Economics Committee and serves on several
other
American Headache Society committees including the Finance Committee,
Legislative Committee, Electronics Committee and the Education Committee.
He is also the author of the "AHS's Headache Coding Corner" found on the
American Headache Society website. Dr. Black had also served on the
Governing Board of the American Headache Society Committee for Headache
Education and was the Development Committee Chairman for the same organization.
He is a National Lecturer and Educator on the topic of Headaches. He has
given numerous invited lectures on headache at various medical meetings and
Medical Schools across the country.
Dr. Black is the
Chief of Neurology and
Co-Medical Director of the Neuroscience Center of Baylor University Medical
Center in Dallas.
For the past two
decades, Dr. Black has been consistently recognized in D magazine’s “The Best Doctors in
Dallas” and has been honored in all the
Texas Monthly issues of “Texas Super Doctors” as one of the leading
Neurologists in the State of Texas. Dr. Black is also listed as one
of “America’s Top Physicians” by the Consumer’s Research Council of America, an
organization devoted to educating and assisting consumers in obtaining the
finest professional services.
